P2 came to end of their Knights and Castles topic with an excellent finale. This week they have all been bringing in their home project which was to design and make their own castle out of junk material. There were some absolutely amazing designs which you can see below! This afternoon many family and friends came to see all the castles and the children enjoyed showing them off and telling everyone how they made them. They then performed 2 songs and included some great actions!
P6 Delamont
P6 enjoyed an amazing residential at Delamont Country Park this week. On Monday morning they arrived into school with their suitcases excited for the adventure. They had an amazing time doing all the activities - an adventure walk in Tollymore, a climbing wall, archery, canoeing on Strangford and nighttime walks as well as the excitement of sleeping in dorms with their friends. There were some very tired children arriving back to school on Wednesday afternoon! A big thank you to Mrs Malcolmson, Mr Lewis and Mrs Welshman who went with them.
Internet Safety Day
Tuesday 7th February was Internet Safety Day. Mr Shephard told everyone about it in assembly last Friday and most classes took part in some activities to think about we can keep ourselves safe, as well as having fun, online.
Nursery ICT
Mr Shephard has been visiting the Nursery on Friday afternoons and teaching the children some skills on the iPads. As their shape has been a heart this month for Valentine's Day, this week they were drawing and colouring them on the iPad.
PTA Disco
On Thursday night PTA held a fun and fantastic disco before we break up for half-term. The outfits were sparkly and fabulous, the tuck shop was thoroughly enjoyed, the limbo was impressive, and the dance moves were outstanding! Thanks to the PTA who raised between £300 and £400 at the event.
